The originator of the game is a known mathematician by the name of Blaise Pascal who was fascinated by the perpetual motion devices. Legend has it that Frenchman Lois Blanc had bargained with the devil to obtain the secrets of the roulette, based on the fact when the numbers 1-36 are added all together, comes up "666", the number of the beast.

The bets are placed on the casino bank and the bets can be a single number or a combination of both numbers. The odd numbers are placed in red pockets while the even numbers are placed in black pockets. There are a few words to be familiar with in playing roulette like manqué, which means that the winning number will be 1 - 18 and passé for numbers 19 - 36. The person who spins the wheel and takes the bets on the house is called croupier or otherwise known as dealer.

Roulette is a game of chance where bets are placed on the probability of winning. The chances of winning increases as the bets are made in combination and stakes are raised higher. The Martingale betting strategy is done by doubling the bet after every loss made to recover previous losses and still have a gain equal to the original amount of bet while the Fibonacci sequence uses the division of numbers according to a series of numbers. Whichever strategy is used, the outcome is still a struggle and can become a financial loss.
